Saddest Fictional TV Moment?
Watched the last episode of Blackadder Goes Forth tonight and that last scene as they go over the top and the screen fades to a field of poppies still hits quite hard especially for a comedy.

John Sullivan also had a great ability to go from comedy to drama in OFAH.

So what's your saddest fictional TV moment?

It's hard to think of something more poignant than that Blackadder. I got very, very choked up at that, and the scene of the fields in the modern day shown after they go over the top.

Similar to that, a line in OFAH also gets to me. In The Jolly Boys' Outing, Uncle Albert is talking to Marlene's baby down the market, telling him some war story. Speaking of his medals to the wee boy, he says, "One day if you're lucky, you'll win one of these." Then he pauses and says, "But then again, hopefully not."
Always reminded me of my own Grandfather, that; told stories of the war as if it was one big heroic jolly, but when pushed you could see in him, it certainly was not.

My saddest moment is when the Eastenders Theme plays at the beginning of the programme.

My happiest is when it plays at the end.

Claret50. Definitely one of them.

The scene in scrubs where Brendan Fraser dies.
The West Wing when Mrs Landingham dies and then when Leo does. Also the episode with the homeless veteran that's found dead in the park.

I see Colonel Blake's death was mentioned. That would be mine.

At the risk of nerding out, the death of the President, while Adama is describing the future in Battlestar is a pretty intense one as well.
